Great Friends Rookie Shooters

Today is Saturday, November 15 at 7 and my phone says it's time to start a new day. The outside temperature is very warm, which means it will be a beautiful day. All guests have breakfast in the room, as always, and after a couple of words about the program we are ready to go. La Loma lodge is the place where every guest feels at home.

Around 8:30 all the guests are ready to the field. It is less than 30 minutes to arrive there with our comfortable Mercedez Benz vans. Shotguns , cartridges and camping equipment are all ready for another great day.

As soon as we arrived, all field assistants have their lights on. The field is full of doves everywhere and in five minutes I hear the first shot. Good shoot! ...... Now is the time to check if each guest is in a good place  for hunting. Our shotguns Benelli Montefeltro 20 gauge and the cartridges work very well. Our guests are very satisfied with both, and also with our mainstay team, who are professionals always at the service of each client.

Hours later, I have received the first shooter in the food tent. Federico, our star chef, is ready to receive them with a glass of wine and a special appetizer: a tasteful pigeon in a “taco” with traditional “chimichurri” sauce, better known as “chimichanga”.

We had the pleasure of hosting our friends Kelly and Larry Roach who already know Pablo from many years ago and who are good friends of him. And as every year, also 3 families came to experience hunting doves in Argentina: Robert, who is one of the decision makers in American Airlines, Amy , John , Danielle , Kyle, Melynda and Jason  who was one of our guests of honor

After all our guests are at the table we started lunch with some fresh pigeons wrapped in bacon, onion and peppers. Then we have some ribs, flank steak, pork, and other cuts of meat cooked on the grill with natural wood of the area. And, of course, with an Argentine Malbec wine, followed by a short nap.

At 2:30 we have the first flight of doves in the afternoon which means it's time to begin. Our field assistants have each shotgun clean, and as already positioned, they guide the guests to the shooting area.

Around 5:45 we receive the first radio call that some of them have already finished.

After picking each shooter up in our Mercedes Benz vans, we are ready for a round of beers. It is time to return to the Lodge and have some tasty appetizers before dinner and, of course, some massage. And knowing that our guests are in the best hands with our chef and staff, I leave to set everything to start again tomorrow.

Pablo, we have enjoyed some amazing days in Cordoba. The hunting was superb, birds everywhere. The lodge and the staff of Pointer really know what they are doing. We had the best hunting experience of our lives, Pointer is at tops. Thanks for everything and see you soon!
