NEWS & REPORTS

From Amateur to Pro

We went to the flat lands of Jesus Maria town. This group arrived early in the morning, around 7.30 am, which was an hour and fifteen minutes before planned! The good thing is that we always make sure to be an hour before the flight so if there are any changes, we can be there on time and the clients don’t worry about anything.

Once our guests were on our pickup trucks, they asked me to stop by the lodge so they could change and take showers. Imagine, after such a long flight, a shower is revitalizing!  They were on their hunting gear an hour after, se we hit the road straight to the field. Very nice guys, young and really friendly. When we got to the field, they were completely happy to have finally arrived! You could feel the excitement in the air!

By 11 am they were already done with the morning hunt on that first day. We got to the field at 9.40, and by 11.15 they were sitting at the table because they were worn out. Young people, but hey, they were not shooters. They had an early lunch and a nice nap at the hammocks.

Gabriel, who we call Number one, is our master chef. He will let you savor excellent dishes, such as dove with mustard sauce and our traditional asado (Argentinian BBQ) with meat cuts you’ve never tasted before. Gabriel will make sure you enjoy these pleasures with a glass of Malbec wine. After such a tasty meal, a siesta is a must to be ready for a long shooting afternoon, in comfortable hammocks under the shade of talas and algarrobos, typical trees from Córdoba. Our guests enjoy the breeze and the sound of nature.

They ate a huge lunch and after the naps decided to start back the hunt. Doves were crazy that afternoon! So we asked them if they wanted to go out there, since the sky was so busy so early!

They hunted until 2.30 pm and we left the field an hour after. We can say it was a great day, but the only thing that was holding them back was the fatigue from the flight and the hunt as well. So we went back to the lodge, where they decided to just take showers and sleep in until dinner.

On the third day (second full day) we went to do the flat lands in Jesus Maria town. The nights at the lodge are quite unique. Drinks, friends and great company are always a great idea. The thing is, the next morning, while you’re waking up and getting ready, you might feel a little tired, but here we say it’s a great type of tiring because is one that comes from fun and laughter. The sun was doing its thing too. We always have sunscreen at the field just in case the sun is too strong but sometimes there’s no way to stand it. You just need good company and some cold cold drinks to get by.

The morning was a calm one, but the weather was nice. We got to the field around 9 am, but the hunt lasted two hours so by 12 pm they were having lunch.

This group was one of the best in terms of kindness, but they were not great hunters. One of them, I remember, asked me for some tips to improve his technique, and of course I was really pleased to help him. He was a fast learner and was also very grateful.

In the afternoon they asked me to hunt together, so we prepared the blinds really close to each other, but the hunt was short since a big storm was arriving to the area.

One thing is certain, they were very happy with the field assistants as well. We have a unique team working with us, nice and super professional people always on top of everything, making sure every clients has the best time possible.

We hope to see you around soon!

And what about you? You should be the next one!
