Time Flies When You Are Hunting

The group made up by Michael, Aubrey, Michael, Raymond, Dane, Gregory and Scott arrived to the city of Cordoba the 3rd of May at 11.15. Our driver was already there waiting for them, ready to help them out with the luggage and to welcome them into these four days of intense hunting and fun.

We had lunch prepared at the field were the rest of the hunting and field staff were waiting for us. On that day, we hunted on a field were the soy crop had just been harvested. The amount of birds was really good and the percentage shot down by our new friends was even better. Later in that evening we took our guests to La Loma Lodge for a well-deserved moment of relaxation. The flight had been long and the day intense, but the hunting had been so good that the team was eager for more the next day.

The coziness of La Loma Lodge at this time of year might have made it a bit difficult to leave the bed, but by 8.30 we had already hit the road on our way to a field 30 km aways from the lodge. The area was called Los Mistoles, and there, we had a great morning session up to midday when we had a break for lunch. Our chef had prepared a delicious Asado, typical Argentine barbeque featuring a mouth watering variery of meat cuts cooked by the fire of local wood. Of course, Malbec wine, beer, dessert and a nap were part of this so called lunch break. In the afternoon, the amoun of birds was not so incredible as it had been so far, but nonetheless, the group had plenty of fun and opportunities to shoot birds down.

When the sun started to set, we drove our guests to La Loma, our comfortable lodge for some more drinks, snacks and massage. La Loma is a beautiful Argentine Estancia built in a Spanish style. Located 60 minutes away from the airport, it offers the comfort of a home with the services of top of the line accommodations.

Fort he third day, our Travel and Leisure department had organized a non hunting activity for part of the team. Six of our guests had asked for a morning of golf, to experience one of the best golf courses our province and country has to offer. So that morning part of the team went that way while Michael and Raymond stayed and decided to go hunting. We took these guests to the east of the town of Totoral, where our La Loma Lodge is located. In the field, corn had just been harvested and there was an area of water nearby. Everything that birds need. Corn and water. It was a sign of the great day we hada head of us. The results were unbelievable. Swarms of birds flying over us. We took a short break for lunch, a one hour nap, and then we kept shooting birds down on the same spot. At about 4pm, we went towards the northern part of that area to get even a better amount of doves. And that’s how we wraped an incredible day!

We usually take our guests to different fields every day, however, there was a unanimous call to the repeat the same field of the day before. We started at the same time, and Michael Jr, after what he heard from his father about the day before, was determined to get his 1000 birds shot down. And so he did! By the end of the day, we had achieved his goal and all of them were happy and did not want to leave.

The next morning, the flight was scheduled for midday, so they decided to take it easy, relax during the morning  and then started their way to the airport. Their stay felt so short, time flies when you are having fun!

You should be the next one!
