Keep Up The Good Work

Great friends arrived on the 24th of April. Five Mexican-Americans, Rafael, Enrique, Edgardo, Fernando and Rogelio were welcomed at the airport by Gabriel, the company representative. He drove them straight to the field in the area of Jesus Maria.

The hunting session that morning just lasted 40 minutes and then lunch was ready. We had prepared for them our signature meal, asado, featuring delicious meat cuts grilled to the wood fire, a tradition in Argentina. After lunch, our guests decided to have a 40 minute siesta to recover from the long flight. Some of them had already been in Argentina, but it was a first timer for the rest of the group. The afternoon session was fantastic! The hunt lasted up to 6 pm allowing our guests to make the most of the day. Dinner in Argentina is usually served after 8 pm, and although our guests can choose what time they want it, a late dinner allows more time at the field hunting.

At La Loma Lodge, Paola, the lodge manager, and all the staff were waiting for our guests were comfortable facilities. The fire was on in the fire pit. Drinks and appetizers served, and the massage therapists ready in case our guests wanted to aliviate sore muscles. Our guests were really tired from the long day, the flight and the hunting.

La Loma Lodge, beautiful Argentine estancia built in 1908 offers the perfect atmosphere to relax. The comfortable facilities are immersed in a green park where guests can enjoy a nice stroll before dinner time. Ideal for families and group of friends, the lodge has a perfect location. Very close the airport and to the fields, guests make the most of their stay in our country.

For their first full day of hunting, we chose La Para, an área towards the east of the province, popular for the unvelievable amounts of birds. However, we couldn’t control the climatic conditions and rain started pouring with strong gusts of wind. We decided to stop at a gas station to enjoy some coffee and a good talk with our guests. For lunch, we had a special request from our guests. A full pork cooked in our traditional mud ovens. We granted them their request and after that, we were finally able to start hunting at 2 pm. Rain had stopped, and although the wind was still blowing the hunting was really good.

For their third day of hunting we organized a special hunt for them. We went to the village of San Pedro Toyo, towards the south of Dean Funes city. The targeted species was the wood pigeon. The volume of these birds is not extremely high as with eared doves but the hunt is definitely fun and entertaining. For lunch, Rafael had a special request: lamb cooked by the woodfire. Again, we were very happy to satisfy this request and offer our guests the best meat Cordoba has to offer. A short nap was in order after the delicious lunch. The hunting continued in the afternoon wraping a fantastic day at the field.

On the fourth day, no hunting could be organized because of flight schedules. It was sad to say goodbye to such a nice group. Everybody from the staff who had the chance to meet them highlighted how kind and nice these people were. They expressed their desire to keep coming year after year. Needless to say, we’ll be waiting for you!

A couple of days ago we got some words from Enrique: Our trip was excellent. Keep up the good work and will see you next year!

It goes without saying that these words touch our hearts and inspire us to keep doing our best to make guests feel at home and feel they’ve had the hunt of their lives.

You should be the next one!
