A Perfect Trip Explained In 3 Days

Sometimes the best memories can't be explained in a short way. That's why we bring you this full trip so you can make up you own mind

DAY 1 - The group arrived from Mendoza at 10:45 a.m. at the airport and Santiago Bernardis went to pick them up. They left the airport around 11 and went directly to the field, where they were welcomed by Ale Martinez and myself, and the clients' field assistants (Gaston and Amancio and Santiago). They arrived for lunch, and Ale was waiting for them with the typical country roast: loin, chorizo, pork matambre, sautéed with meat at the start (since they had not hunted, so it could not be done with pigeon). Dessert was a fruit salad and from there they began hunting at 1:15 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. when they stopped shooting because they were tired from the trip.

They did very well, they threw an average of 18 boxes each and at 4:30 they arrived at the lodge, where Mariano (the waiter) received them at the San Huberto lodge with wet towels and some appetizers. They opened a bottle of wine for them and decided to drink it next to the fireplace, where they shared the rest of their afternoon.

DAY 2 - This morning they left at 7:30 a.m. towards the lower part of Jesús María and headed for Route 17 to then enter the Quebrachos area. The field was good in the morning but very cold caused by the southern wind, although the hunting was good, it was chalenging because of how doves were flying following the strong wind.

The wind causes them to fly higher than normal since they come from the south and with the tailwind. The guests decided to turn around and hunt to the other side, where northern doves were looming, so they flew a little lower and against the wind. They hunted until 11:15 am until the clients decided to cut off to go to lunch. Ale Martinez, the chef, prepared for starters some tostones with sautéed pigeon and then the typical country roast: pork rib, loin, chorizo and chicken. The clients were very happy with the lunch, and to end they had for dessert a chocolate mousse. Then it was nap time! It went for about an hour and then started hunting again. The doves came better from the north side (much lower) so they hunted much better in the afternoon, and decided to cut off at 3 p.m. to return to the San Huberto lodge. Mariano received them with a drink and wet towels to then have a massage session at 6 p.m.

DAY 3 - Last but not least, the last hunting day came around. And I say last hunting day because they organized with Beagle Tours to go golfing the very last day of the trip.

On this day, everyone got up and left the lodge at 7:30 towards General Paz area to Mr. Romero’s field. The clients wanted to try pigeon hunting on that cold morning, and unfortunately the weather conditions were not helping. Luckily they had the chance to shoot and hit many, they didn't shoot much but they were happy. Aaron's shoulder was hurting a bit, so apparently they didn't shot so little, ha!

The customers were tired and hungry, so it was decided to cut the hunt early in order to go for lunch. After lunch they decided to move to another field, to the lower side of Jesús María, it took approximately 45 minutes.

They arrived at 1:25 pm approx. to the field and began to hunt. The number of doves was excellent and the clients were very happy with the field since you could see the doves crossing. They finally decided to stop at 3:30 due to tiredness and shoulder pain. Jody asked for massages when she got to the lodge, so she booked it for 6 pm.

It was a very hectic but exciting day, and our guests really appreciated it as they had fun and had a great time.
