Adventure in the South

On the 28th we received another great family ready to have fun and spend some quality time together. I welcomed them at the airport and they couldn't wait to get to the field, specially the youngest members of the group in their first time hunting in Argentina.

On our way to the field we stopped at their lodge, Jesus Maria Deluxe Resort. This brand new lodge offers a variety of services for families and businesses to enjoy. We distinguish ourselves by having a relaxed environment, delicious cuisine, locations in a rural settings, spacious outdoor recreational areas, large accommodating rooms, as well as a spa & gym (El Remanso).  Located half way between the airport and the fields, we dropped off the luggage, they got in the right clothes for hunting and we continued our way to the field. Campo de Arias, towards the north was the place for hunting. It was a bit late, the flight had arrived almost at 4 pm so we had only a few hours of light left to enjoy that day.

The following day started early, we picked them up and drove them to the east of the town of Jesus Maria. It was going to be their first full day hunting. Douglas cared so much about his kids' experience. He kept asking them how they were doing. He wanted them to have a great, great time.

At midday they were surprised. They couldnt belive the camp we had set up for lunch. They were expecting maybe some sandwiches, not to have their own cheff to cook their lunches! But we love lunches at the field, so we go big! Handcrafted leather chairs and nice laid tables. Lunch is prepared by our cook in the most traditional Argentine way.  Lots and lots of meat: beef, pork, doves. Some veggies to keep our hunters healthy. Everything grilled by the fire of local wood, which gives the meat and incredible, unique flavour. Then Malbec wine and delicious deserts. Lunch at the field is pleasurable. And then, hammocks were hanged for our guests to enjoy a short nap to recover from so much food.

At Pointer Outfitters we like to take our guests to different areas and fields so they can get the whole picture about hunting in Argentina. The following day the hunting took place in a milo/sorghum field. Birds were abundant and the kids did not take long to organize a competition between them. At lunch time it had to be defined, who shot down the biggest amount of birds. Lunch was enjoyed among all the annecdotes from the morning, awesome stories of great shots, and also stories of times when four shots to the same bird did not even remove a feather from it!!!! They had so much fun!

They decided that there was no time for siesta. The birds were flying very well, a good volume of doves around. No time to waste! After an hour, they just cuouldn't believe their eyes! They couldn't believe how many birds they had shot down and how many they were still flying around.

When they decided to call it a day, grandad, father and sons got together to enjoy a cold beer under the warm sun. They need to come and see what this is all about.

For the last morning, they could only enjoy two hours of fun at the field. They had to go back to catch the plane back home. Among good laugh and shots, they said good bye to their field assistants and made their way back home.

You should be the next one!
