Doves Family and Kindness

Joshua, Chris and Michael arrived at Cordoba airport on the 16th of May, very early in the morning. We welcomed them at the airport and drove them to Plaza Real Lodge. There, they decided to rest for a while before starting the first hunt of their trip. Michael was Chris father’s and Joshua’s grandfather.

They were going to spend some quality time hunting in the world capital for dove hunting. On the very first hunting session they were absolutely amazed by the amount of doves. They knew birds abund here but they were never expecting this volume. After a brief period hunting, they would stop and take pictures and make videos to share with friends and family back at home.

On the second day of their stay, they had a hearty breakfast and we made our way to the field. After enjoying some time hunting, Chris and his son Joshua gathered to enjoy a cold beer, while Michael kept on hunting to show off his bulky shot down average at lunch time.  Gabriel, our chef, prepared a delicious lunch for the party. Lots and lots of meat: beef, pork, doves. Some veggies to keep our hunters healthy and then many bottles of wine. Lunch at the field is pleasurable. And then, hammocks were hanged for our guests to enjoy a short nap to recover from so much food.

In the evening, we drove our guests to Plaza Real Lodge, their chosen accommodation. Comfortable, close to the fields, ideal for families, relaxed atmosphere. Plaza Real is close to Totoral City. This totally renovated and stylish hotel surrounded by farmland provides excellent and new accommodations to make your trip special. Argentina dove hunting reviews mention this unique place as a great option for wingshooters from all over the world.

The rooms are big and comfortable, all with private bathroom, king and queen size beds, in single or double occupancy; and special suites.

For the second day, our guests had asked us to be part of Soaring Argentina, our non profit local mission. So we drove them to Jesus Maria, the biggest town closest to the field. There, our guests kindly bought clothes to donate to schools. Specifically, they bought P.E. outfits for the kids, from socks, to jogging pants, sweatshirts and jackets. One for each kid of the school they were going to visit. Winter has just set in in the country, making some of the schools change their timetable to the warmer hours of the day. That same morning, our guests also took the chance to buy some souveniers, like Argentina soccer shirts and then, they hunted all afternoon. The sky was threatening rain all day, but luckily, our guests could enjoy a great afternoon.

For the third day, the destination was not the field but the needy schools in the area where we hunt. It was a pleasure for us to have guests so much interested in reaching out to the schools, buying supplies to donate, go and actually see the kids. Michael had been an educator and principal of a school for 30 years, and we had no doubts after the trip that he had been a really good one. The three of our guests were excited to meet the kids, but the kids and the teachers were more excited to meet them and to receive the donations. In the second school we visited, Michael got a map and taught the kids a mini geography lesson, showing the students where they came from and how long it took them to get here to share some time with them. It was a very special day for all of us. It was a pleasure to have guests who decide to be part of the non profit to such an extent. We will always remember your kindness!

The days flew by! So typical of when you’re having fun! For the last day, our guests hunted in the morning. It was a great hunting session. Gabriel, the chef, had prepared a delicious picada, what we call our plate of snacks, cheese and cold cuts. Our guests asked to share it with the field assistants as a way of showing their gratitude for the excellent service and saying goodbye. We hope to see them around soon.

You should be the next one!
