Shooting is Always a Good Idea

Before welcoming this group we had no idea how much fun we were going to have. The 23rd of February we picked up Heath, the first member of the group to arrive at the airport at 18.40. Our Company representative Federico picked him up and took him to La Loma Lodge.

There, he was going to wait for the rest of the party and also stay the rest of the trip. Given his arrival time, there was no hunting that day. We drove him to La Loma Lodge, which is just a 60 minute drive from the airport. This lodge is ideal for groups of friends, and it is also perfectly situated between the two most prized dove roosts in Cordoba.

When we talk about having a magnificent time dovehunting in argentina, you don’t need to worry about the season, given that the species is shot all year round. La Loma’s staff, the delicious Argentine meals, as well as copious amounts of doves combine to make this a very memorable dove-shooting trip. The atmosphere is this lodge and the scenery will make you wish your stay was longer.

Our guest had dinner that night and got a good night sleep for the next day. We picked him up at 8 am and we took him to a field 2 km off the main road in La Para Town. This place is towards the east of the province and even though the ride to it can get a bit longer than 40 minutes, it is definitely worth it. The morning hunting session was a success. Heath is a really experienced hunter and he got a really good percentage of doves shot down. We had lunch in the field and a siesta to get ready for a greater volume of birds in the afternoon.

And we were not wrong, the amount of birds in the afternoon exceeded our expectations and we decided to call it a day by 17.30 because our friend Heath had already got the mark of 1000 doves shot down on his very first day!!! Besides, the rest of the friends would have arrived by now and it was time to join them.

The 25th of February was off to a right start. We had a full party made up of Heath, Ryan, Mike, Lyness, Terance, Tim, John, and Andrew. Four of them were brothers as well as friends so we were in for really funny annecdotes. We decided to take our guests to the same field of the day before because Heath had told them about the experience he had shooting a thousand doves in his very first day!

We had a great time there. We had lunch at about 1pm. The typical Asado, our country’s signature meal, featuring different types of meat and meat cuts.  There was time for a siesta to get the energy levels up again and we kept on shooting until 6 pm when we decided to return to La Loma Lodge. The staff there was going to be waiting for our guests with even more delicious food, snacks, cocktails and Malbec wine. But let’s not forget to mention that Terance shot down a thousand birds too and now belongs in the club!

The following day we took our guests to the same area, La Para town, but a different field. This particular field offers a different hunting experience in terms of schedules. There are no trees nearby the camp set up for lunch, which makes it impossible to put up the hammocks for siesta, so the afternoon hunting session starts a bit earlier and our guests can make the most of the constant flow of birds at this time of day. We hunted until 17.30. By that time, our friends were tired and wanted to go back to the comfort of La Loma Lodge.

The last hunting day started at 8 am as well and we drove the group to the same area, La Para roost, to a field just 5 km off the main town. The morning hunting session was a bit shorter than usual because lunch was earlier.  Our guests had a special request. They had had so much fun with their field assistants that they wanted to reward them with a shooting competition. Field assistants versus guests. They had a blast! By 16.30 we went back to the lodge. Our guests were very satisfied by the hunting experience and the overall service.

And we love to hear that, we work hard to make sure there’s someone working behind every small detail. We rejoice in providing our guests with the best overall experience possible. It’s not just about a really good quality hunting. It’s about every aspect of the trip.

Let us mention another aspect of the experience. The guns. Our guests usually use our Benelli shotguns montefeltro 20 cal. They are our workhorses and the only weapons that carry on like no other the pressure of Cordoba’s high volume hunting. Million of shells a year!!!Our guests are surprised by its comfort when shooting over 2000 thousand rounds a day. We also have a wide variety of Beretta shotguns to offer.

The last day of February, we took our guests to the airport in Cordoba City very early in the morning. Their flight was scheduled at 11,40.

We had so much fun, we hope to see them again soon!

You should be the next one!
