Cuisine

Our menu has a variety of options featured every night. We offer sirloin, pork, chicken, pasta, and salads. There is also a a spectacular dessert every night.

At our daily location, we will set up a tent and prepare the famous Argentinean barbecue. You will immensely enjoy the cuts of meat prepared, accompanied by our well known Malbec wines.

You can get our regular red wine or choose a different one from the menu. We have two options as far as red wine is concerned, malbec and cabernet sauvignon, which are the perfect accompaniment to the meat served in the field.

The Field

In the North of Córdoba, we will shoot in the hills 70% of the time. This is a dry area with rocks and rolling hills. It is packed with waist-high thorny bushes that make the terrain tough, but not impossible, to maneuver through. The remaining 30% of the time we shoot in the flatlands. The terrain in the flatlands consists of farm fields with crops or low cut grass.

Birds normally leave the roosting area during the first light of the day. They fly forty to sixty miles on average for food. The fields that comprise our shooting options, depending on the time of the year, are:

Shooting in the “flyways”: Which means between the roosting area and the feeding field.

The fields: fields where crops were harvested, such as soy bean, corn, or sorghum (especially from March to May).

Feedlots: Birds which feed at the feedlots are great shooting options for some months of the year (March to July).

Water holes: Especially in the Summer time, water holes constitute great shooting options (October to April).

Roosting areas: when birds leave the main roosting area and stay in temporary roosting fields, we have the option of shooting them there without affecting their main roosting place. During a hatch, you will see them flying both directions.

The Hunting

Our dove shooting program starts early in the morning with a complete breakfast, which provides fruit, cereal, toast, coffee, and eggs prepared according to your preferences. Your guide/host will arrive for breakfast and will talk to you about the hunting location, the guns, and the shells that will be used in the field that day.  He will also give a safety speech on the first day of your hunt and will assist you in acquiring any/all accessories you could need. Around 8:00 am – 8:30 am, you will depart with your group to the field. Depending on location, it can be anywhere from a twenty minute to a forty minute car ride.

At your arrival, the field staff will be ready to take you immediately to your shooting blind. It will be an estimated three hours of shooting before lunch time. The head guide will be available to assist and coach you if you so desire. Each guide is an experienced and qualified shot. They will be able to provide you with special coaching and tips to improve your accuracy.

At our daily location, we will set up a tent and prepare the famous Argentinean barbecue. You will immensely enjoy the cuts of meat prepared, accompanied by our well known Malbec wines. After a great meal, depending on the time of the year, we will set hammocks to relax before afternoon hunt begins. In the evening, when everybody has finished shooting, we will return to the lodge for appetizers and drinks.

The personal field assistants are in their thirties and most of them have been working in the field for many years; this becomes apparent when you see them shooting. They work hard every day preparing your blind, carrying shells, shotguns, drinks, and stools to your spot. They are also responsible for cleaning the field and picking up all shells expended. *Schedules can change depending on the time of year.

Gear and Equipment

SHOOTING SAFETY GLASSES OR SUN GLASSES: they should serve as sunglasses and they should be shatterproof. The green or yellow protective glasses that can be worn over regular glasses are good. Some have a small side panel, which protects against glare. They are available in many shooting sports suppliers.

EAR PROTECTION:  This is important because you will be shooting your gun hundreds of times.  Some hunters used the compressed foam devices and some bring noise suppressing headphones.

ANKLE HIGH BOOTS/SHOES:  While in the field, there is some brush to walk through on occasion.  A pair of sturdy boots or just ankle high rugged shoes will work great.

LIGHTWEIGHT HAT: one with a wide brim is best.

SHOOTING GLOVES: this item is important to protect hands from hot shotgun barrels, nicks and blisters from reloading, breaking open guns or activating safeties. Golf or batting gloves are a good substitute if you cannot find quality, sensitive leather shooting gloves.

SOFT PROTECTIVE GUN CASE FOR DAILY USE IF YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR PERSONAL GUN: This is optional.  We can provide you with one.

SHELL POUCH: one that will hold a box or two of shells. It can also be a belt-type pouch or vest. This is important specially if you plan to load the gun yourself.

SMALL FIELD BAG: to carry camera gear and other personal items into the field.

INSECT REPELLENT: especially for our summer season. Mosquitoes or other bothersome insects are very unusual in the field.  You can bring a small bottle of Cutter\\\'s.

CAMERA: The area is scenic and picture possibilities are everywhere. We also offer a private service by a professional photographer.

EVENING DRESS: Clothing is casual. Slacks and sport shirts are all you need.

BAND-AIDS OR TAPE: for sore fingers from shooting.

LIGHT JACKET: Depending on the season, the mornings can be cool.  Also in the unlikely event of rain this will come in handy.
